A quest for revenge attracts a roomful of unusual guests.
A sasquatch lives
in the woods behind
the high school...
Running from the past doesn't erase it.
It's fascinating to see a story come to life, first on the page and then on the stage! I adapted A Deal With Death into a play, and after a month of rehearsals we performed it over two nights to several hundred people. It was an amazing experience to have talented high school actors interpret the words I'd written.
I’ve studied creative writing at a variety of institutions. I attended the Juniper Institute for Young Writers at UMass Amherst (thanks to a Scholastic Awards Summer Scholarship) and the Reynolds Young Writers Workshop at Denison University, both in the summer of 2024. Previously I’ve attended writing programs at Susquehanna University, the Writers Circle at Drew University, and The Hudson Valley Writing Project.
I enjoy sharing ideas about storytelling and the craft of writing. I appreciate meeting other young writers and would-be writers and I have given talks about writing to elementary school classes, library groups, and occasionally to rooms full of adults (for instance, a symposium at the Studios of Key West, shown here).
I finished writing my first full-length novel in fifth grade, and since then, I have written eight novels, some of which have won Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. My first novel won a National Silver Medal. I've self-published three of my novels, with a fourth coming out in fall 2024. Click on the button to learn about all my novels (and their awards!)
